Quests from The Panic Room: House of Secrets

Love

Matt: Damn it, this is so sweet! What a union of souls! Let me tell you another sweet story like this one, while Feather is collecting bones.

Task: Do through the attic. Collect there 15 Matt’s bones.

Matt: Feather, did you bring more audience? Well, they bill and coo so sweetly that I’ll tell such a story that will fit them perfectly.

Nat: Will you shut it already?

Matt: Maybe I should pour boiling water down your throat so you don’t have ideas about interrupting me again?

Lance: D-don’t you dare touch her!

Matt: Is that a preposition or a threat? I’ll “touch” you both, if I want to. I’ll even pick in what order to kill you.

Matt: Pray for me to kill you before I get to miss Thompson. I don’t think you’d like to see her suffer.

Lance: You’ll regret it.

Matt: I am already regretting. We had a conversation between two intelligent people. Feather is always ready to hear me out. But then you two turn up! You just had to interfere, hadn’t you? Here’s your punishment — I’ll skip all the juicy details.

Nat: What a loss.

Lance squeezes Nat’s palm lightly. It’s not clear whether he wants to stop her or support her.

Matt: There once was a couple of turtledoves. Metaphorically speaking, of course. They were called, emm… Nance and Lat. They lived in an old mansion, serving their master.

Matt: Nance and Lat were young, while the master and all the other servants were old. So only Nance and Lat were getting out into the town for grocery. They got to ride horses, swim in the pond and even wed in a local church.

Matt: But the good old days were over, and strolling musicians started whispering about the plague coming from the north. Nance and Lat didn’t think much of it and said nothing to their master.

Matt: But soon respected merchants confirmed that a dangerous pestilence is not only in the north, but is also moving south, to their town. But the boy and the girl were too young to think about death, so the master didn’t learn anything again.

Matt: The plague was knocking at the town gate along with pilgrims, but Nance and Lat kept saying: "Don’t worry, master. Don’t do anything and it will all work out somehow ". There was still a tiny chance of salvation, but Nance and Lat were pouring verbal poison into their master’s ears.

Matt: Black death made its way to the mansion. AL the other servants died, but the plague spared Nance and Lat. And then the master on his last legs went out into the yard and locked the mansion with all locks and bars.

Matt: And the lovers were left alone in the house. Them and two nooses hanging from the ceiling, thoughtfully left by the master. And only then Nance and Lat realized what they’ve done.

Nat: That doesn’t sound like a real story. You just stole the names.

You completed Matt’s task and received some freedom points and some tokens

Matt: What, really? Did I not tell you? I’ve developed a foresight and was able to see your future. Run. Collect. Pumpkins. If you don’t want to share a noose.
