New interpretation
Isami: Let’s go, it’s a riddle for all of us. Jim is a good judge of character. Especially after he had to experience so many feelings himself. Everything is connected, Feather. Sometimes I think that everything that was happening to us was leading to this. It was all arranged for a single purpose — so that now we could do something the house needs. The house itself, not its masters, both real and sham.
Task: Talk to Jim in the rooms of the house.
Isami is laying out pages with hints on the couch, explaining to the doctor everything you found out. The curse, Alastriona, Leonard... Your head would be spinning from this much information, but Jim’s eyes are shining. He loves riddles.
Jim: Forgiveness, goodness, faith, hope, help. Two people under the curse. All those things apply to John, but what about Alice?
Isami keeps silent, raising an eyebrow. A strange mask of polite surprise. It probably says more about the Japanese girl’s attitude towards Alice than anything else.
Jim: Who has faith in goodness of Alice? Who places their hopes on her? Who’s helping her? Matt doesn’t count, his help is worse than harm. And who is forgiving her?
Isami: Do you want John to forgive Alice? I’m afraid even Jane won’t be able to convince him of that.
