Quests from The Panic Room: House of Secrets

Fortune-telling with a mirror

Marie: And I would surely tell fortunes before Christmas. Yes, right in the boudoir, while Lynette is personally watching over the pudding cooking.

Task: Go through the children's room in the ghosts mode.

Night. There are three girls in the madam’s room. Only one candle is burning. They are exchanging glances, nodding at Marie.

Fog: You go first. Just remember the most important thing — don’t blink.

Marie comes to the mirror slowly, takes a comb.

Standing just a couple feet away from the mirror, she starts combing her long hair, looking at her reflection intently. The unstable candlelight flicks out of the darkness now a dresser’s shadow resembling a silhouette of a well-built man, now an oil lamp that looks like some youngster’s head.

Marie bites the apple. The flame starts to flicker more, like there is a draught or a wind gust. Reflection in the mirror appears and then almost disappears again. You come closer and peer into it, just like Marie. Suddenly you discern him. He has long curly hair, part of his face is either in shadow or covered in soot… You blink and then only see an oil lantern again.

Fog: Well, did you see someone?

Marie: Yes, I think so.

You completed the task and received some points of freedom and some tokens

Marie: I saw him! Of course, I didn’t recognize him back then, but I remembered after.
