Departure
Marie: Clatter of horses' hoofs and loud bass voice of the coachman overlap the sound of rain — a carriage has arrived. Steps in the corridor. Two people. The first is tired and shuffling, the second — loud and confident. Nothing like the fugitive that left me a butterfly.
Task: Go through the bedroom in «Ghosts» mode.
Marie: Caleb is stamping so loudly, that knocking is not even necessary. He doesn’t knock. Stephen, our butler, does.
Marie: Yes, come in.
Caleb appears in the doorway along with a fuzzy figure — it must be the butler.
Fog: Lady Marie, the carriage is ready. I’ve ordered to send your things downstairs.
Marie: Thank you, Stephen.
Caleb: Marie, the thought of not seeing you for several months saddens me to no end. So I’ve decided to at least see you off to the carriage.
Marie: That is very kind of you, Caleb, but just as Stephen said, my things will be carried by servants.
Caleb: I wasn’t planning to carry suitcases. I just wanted to walk with you. You will not deny me this, will you?
Marie: As you wish.
By the stair Caleb is obviously going to offer her his hand, but Marie pretends not to notice his gesture. She hastily draws up her skirt and walks down, holding it with both hands.
