Quests from The Panic Room: House of Secrets

Uncle’s gift

Marie: As always, it was very noisy in the lounge. Men were playing cards, women were gossiping. I was writing a letter to my uncle and spilled the ink… No, not like that! Why would I come down with stains of my dress, like some housemaid? I didn’t go for that.

Task: Find an unknown item in the bedroom in "ghosts" mode. You will not find the item immediately.

Marie: Only the general murmur was heard from my room, but I’ve learned to make out separate sounds, so I would unmistakably recognize some aristocrat losing a lot of money in a game or a compere announcing a ladies' choice dance.

Suddenly the chimes sound to your right. But there is no clock in this room, is there? You turn your head to the sound and see a chimney appearing in the place of a mirror. There’s also a wall clock.

Marie: The clock above the chimney has beaten five, so it’s time for the evening tea. My stepmother always made tea herself. For Lynette to let someone else make tea was just as incredible as it would be for a hunter to order a servant to kill the beast in his stead.

Marie: At that time she was usually in a good mood, so it was a perfect moment to come downstairs… But still there was a chance she would just send me back. I could finish my letter to uncle Robert later… Uncle?

You see Marie’s face changing. She runs to the chest near her bed, opens it and takes out a small box.

You completed Marie’s task and received some points of freedom and some tokens

Marie: Tea! A wonderful variety of tea, a gift from my uncle. That is why I went. An attempt to come down to the madam’s lounge while she was having guests would usually end in a short “good night” and sending me back to my bedroom. But with this tea I had a chance.
