Quests from The Panic Room: House of Secrets

Release

Jim: Hm, when I was browsing the diary, I think a page has fallen out of it. Come on, Feather, let’s search for it.

Task: Go through the study in "words" mode.

Jim: Ah, Feather, here it is. Look, the outline of the tear is the same as that in the diary.

Jack: Jim, what’s there?

Jim: A pencil drawing. A middle-aged man with his hand in bandage. Dark liquid has created a pool under his body. There is a fallen stepladder near him.

Jack: Another one has dropped a cue. The painter turned out to be a rancorous son of the bitch.

Jim: Got round to a juryman and made a sketch. As a mockery?

Jack: The Puppeteer is a real magnet for madmen — they fly to him like bees to a honeypot.

Jack: Well, the reading is entertaining, but the Underground members should have finished some of the tasks by now. I’ll go check.

Jim: What, we won’t even discuss this?

Jack: What’s there to discuss? We’ll have a good cry when we get out. This story has been repeating itself several times in this house, with small variations.

Jack: As soon as I free some time in my schedule for grief, I’ll be sure to call you. We’ll buy two huge baskets of ice-cream, eat it with tablespoons, make each other hairdos and manicure and watch a milksoppy TV tear-jerker, while hugging.

Jack: No, wait, we don’t have cable TV here… And there was some other problem too. I can’t remember what it was… Ah, yes! There’s this crazy couple playing Bonnie and Clyde and trying to bury us. And until we make sure their love lasts till the GRAVE, we don’t have time to weep.

Jack: Especially mourning people we have never known.

Jack waves his hand, annoyed, and leaves the study.

Jack: Have a nice watch.

You completed Jim’s task and received some points of freedom and some tokens

Jim: Let’s sit in silence. You don’t mind?
