Quests from The Panic Room: House of Secrets

Out of Rat Lair

Jim: Bill might have kept the note, but I'm not sure he'll give it to you... Let's go together.

Task: Go through the basement in the shadows mode.

Bill is studying pictures of some places. As he notices you he turns the pictures face down.

Bill: Hello there. Jim, why did you bring the follower here?

Jim: I trust her. Did you keep the first note from the Puppeteer?

Bill: Of course I kept it. Why do you need it?

Jim: I need his handwriting.

Jim produces a scrap of paper from his pocket.

Note: Come to the basement. It's urgent. Jack

Jim: I want to compare it to the one he wrote when Jack went missing.

Bill: Well, let's do it.

He takes a key out of his pocket and walks towards the shelves. You hear the sound of a lock and rustling of paper. A minute later Bill comes back, holding a magnifying glass and a piece of paper.

Note: Find a tape.

Bill: Give it to me.

Without hesitation, Jim hands his note to the old man. For about five minutes Bill is studying them through the magnifying glass, then hands it back.

Bill: They are absolutely identical. Same slope and the typical shape of the letter A. It was written by the same person. What do you need this for?

Jim: You can learn a lot by somebody's handwriting. Can basically make a psychological portrait, but first we need to make sure it's the material we need.

Bill: Very well. You can take my note, just bring it back later.

You completed Jim's task. Your reputation among the Followers has increased by 1. You received some points of freedom and some tokens.

Jim: Nice. Now I need a little time, Feather.
