Leonard: I was sentenced to a solitary cell — that was the custom at the time. I only had a bed, a Bible and a workbench. Imprisonment was hard, I felt very lonely. Sometimes they made us work on some kind of mechanism with treadles. They said it was for grain grinding, but I suspected it wasn’t actually doing anything — pointless work was part of punishment. Although there was another type of work... Try to find me a fuse — a piece of short flat cord.
