Quests from The Panic Room: House of Secrets

Beginning of the End

Leonard: The game was over, the guests congratulated Madame and cheered up Caleb. He seemed to not understand what had happened, Lynette smiled, but only with her eyes. I did not have any urgent matters to attend to, so I decided to go upstairs. As I went up the stairs, I saw Caleb leave the lounge. It was logical to leave the house after such a defeat but instead he headed towards the living rooms.

Task: Go through the bedroom in the shadows mode.

Leonard: When I went down to the living rooms, Caleb was not in the hallway. Perhaps he was just waiting for Madame in her room to discuss the debt? I was about to go back when I heard a sharp cry.

Marie: Let go of me!

It looks like the cry came from Marie's bedroom. You see the young Leo who rushes to the door and pulls at it - it is locked. You hear the sounds of fighting and woman crying from behind the door.

Marie: Please don't do this!

Leo is banging on the door, but to no avail. He runs back to the stairs - for help, apparently. But suddenly the door opens and frightened Marie runs out of the room crying, her clothes in disarray. You can see the corset under the dress, and the bustle is askew.

Marie: For God's sake, help me! Leo?..

Marie abruptly turns away from us and, adjusting the dress on the go, goes running towards the stairs. Right after her... Caleb emerges from the bedroom!

Caleb: Marie, wait, I won't hurt you! And what are you doing here, boy?

Leo: I could ask you the same question.

Caleb wants to say something, but Leonard suddenly throws himself at him, aiming his fist at the man's stomach.

Caleb: Why you little...!

Leonard dodges Caleb's blow and sinks his teeth into Caleb's hand with all his strength. Caleb abruptly pushes Leo away, and he hits the door, banging his head against the jamb. The boy loses consciousness, and the memory stops.

You helped Leonard. You received some points of freedom and some tokens.

Leonard: There was so much anger... Unfortunately I was just a child.
